The First London Action Festival

I look forward to joining the inaugural The London Action Festival, a new world class film and television festival dedicated to all things action. Running from 28 - 31 July 2022, it will primarily be based at the prestigious Picturehouse Central cinema, right in the heart of London’s West End, with other events held across further Central London venues.

I was honoured to be invited to join "The World in Action" panel alongside actor/filmmaker Joey Ansah (The Old Guard, The Bourne Ultimatum) and stunt coordinator Jude Poyer (Havoc, Gangs of London) to discuss the impact of Asian cinema on global action filmmaking as we know it today. It's going to be a great conversation with clips and examples, and will follow a special screening of Jackie Chan's The Legend of Drunken Master (aka Drunken Master 2), directed by Lau Kar-Leung. This much-loved modern martial arts classic will receive a rare presentation from an immaculate 4K restoration in its original, uncut Hong Kong version (in Cantonese with English subtitles) in a new restoration from Warner Bros.

The four day London Action Festival has many other great events lined up including special screenings of Die Hard and Predator (both with director John McTiernan attending and doing Q&As), a 25th anniversary screening of Con Air (featuring a Q&A with director Simon West) and much more.
