Stand Up For Stunts

With another night at the Academy Awards once again, it’s great to celebrate a new, exciting year of film, yet it’s another sad reminder that a category for stunts is still overlooked, and denied.

While we acknowledge all the great nominees, it’s crucial to remember the hugely talented stunt professionals who aren’t included, particularly baffling when their work remains front and centre in huge films which are named in most other categories, from Best Picture, Best Director, Best Editing, and many more, yet it’s exclusively stunt people who put their safety and lives on the line for their art! Here is a more extensive article I wrote last year which echoes the same sentiment, and I do hope this changes in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, check out this great video from The Hollywood Reporter below with shows several ultra talented stunt women at work, giving an insight into what these overlooked artists actually do on set.
