Life of Action II review in Total Film

This one is a particularly big deal for me as I grew up as a film obsessed youth reading Total Film religiously every month, and I still consider it to be the best film magazine in the world.

So, when I found out they were reviewing my new book Life of Action II: Interviews with the Men and Women of Action Cinema, and gave it a positive write-up, I was quite taken aback. For me, this is what it means to go “full circle” and I am enormously grateful that the book is resonating with so many people.

Neil Smith from Total Film writes: “Stuntman turned author Fury follows his 2015 original with another collection of Q&As with action talents including Zoë Bell, Vic Armstrong, Gareth Evans and Tony Jaa. Respectful and thorough, the results turn up the odd nugget. (Sean Penn, for instance, wanted to be hit for real when filming The Gunman.) It’s Fury’s female interviewees, though, that are the most revealing, with Kelly Hu (X2) calling out the tendency to put women in skimpy, padding-averse costuming.”
